The purpose of the ELITE Academy is to enhance the positive development of young girls between the ages of 12-18 within the Hampton Roads community by exposing them to the benefits and the importance of positive self-image, responsible personal conduct, and respect for self and others. This will be accomplished via educational achievement, cultural enrichment, and most important, mentoring by the women of the Tidewater Chapter of the NCBW.

The sessions/workshops will be led by trusted women who are business and community leaders who will provide wisdom and resources that will help guide the girls through the importance of financial literacy, balanced nutrition and health, proper etiquette, positive self-esteem as well as professional and educational development.

This program will empower the young women to pursue excellence in every area of their lives. The topics that will be covered will support the following initiatives of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women:
  • Education (School Bullying)
  • Health (HIV/AIDS)
  • Teen Pregnancy
  • Economic Empowerment              (Career Development & Planning)
